The therapeutic treatments and activities of Equine Therapy


Objetive

The motion transmitted to the rider by the animal creates complex rotational and transverse movements. The propioceptors activated in the body of the rider send information to the relevant sensory organs to promote balance and posture. This inflow of movement requires that the body makes continual adjustments to mainain posture, balance and position on the horse.


Human resources

  • Medical supervisor
  • Riding instructor
  • Physiotherapist
  • Psychologist
  • Masseuse

Treatment

The minimum treatment period should be 3 months and include:
 

  • Medical consultation
  • Psychological consultation for the patient and parents is the patient is a minor
  • Physiotherapy and therapeutic massage
  • Equine therapy

Specific Activities

Recommended additional activities:
 

  • Exercises and therapeutic games aimed at: emotional areas, sensory perception and psychomotor coordination.
  • Neuro-muscular exercises for the entire body.
